Bret Boone did the damage early with a first-inning grand slam, and pinch-hitter Greg Dobbs provided the late heroics with a three-run double in the seventh as the Mariners held off the A's at Safeco Field. Adrian Beltre and Raul Ibanez combined for five of Seattle's 13 hits.
